How Do I?

The Human Library is designed to build a positive framework for conversations that challenge stereotypes, prejudices, and stigma through dialogue. In a Human Library, real people are on loan to readers. Difficult questions are expected, appreciated, and answered.

West Bloomfield is hosting a Human Library event on Saturday, October 5, 2024 from 12-4 PM at the Main Library. We’re seeking volunteers to serve as Human Books by sharing their stories with members of the local community in an effort to promote tolerance, celebrate differences, and encourage understanding between people who come from varied backgrounds.

The application to volunteer as a Book has closed. The West Bloomfield Library is a Publishing Partner with the Human Library organization in Denmark. Many thanks to all those who are volunteering to share their story at this event!
