The Main Library closed at 1 PM on Thursday, March 12 due to an active shooter at Temple Israel. The Westacres Branch remained open.
The shelter in place order was lifted around 3:15 PM, at which time the Main Library reopened.
The West Bloomfield Township Library sincerely thanks the West Bloomfield Township Police Department, the West Bloomfield Township Fire Department, and all law enforcement agencies who acted so quickly to respond to the awful violence that occurred at Temple Israel on Thursday, March 12. Thank you for protecting our community–we admire your courage in running toward danger in order to keep everyone safe.
